So it was my dad’s birthday and I was totally engulfed in his activities and whatever else. Oh Kay!! This will be fun! So I think it is fun for students to know they are turning in an assignment and they will be understood. It is the most uncomfortable feeling knowing that people do not understand them or their ideas. I am dealing with this now in classroom management. And the worse part is when the teacher thinks there is only one way to solve a problem or construct an answer. I would love to read my students work to see what is going one in their little minds. For example, on the first day of class, I would try to read my student’s craft like Lisa. I will try to see what their brains are producing and what are their thought processes. I think that ELA turns into math when papers and writing have to be contracted in s certain way. I think that it’d best to figure what kind of thinker is in the classroom only to find out what type of minds are in it our classroom. My sister is working on her PhD at Duke. Her professor gave her an assignment. These doctorial canditidates had to write a paper explains “why.” the professor explained tht it had to be beautifully written and fluid. My sister… Being the genius she is made a paper using two words, “why not.” she received the highest grade in the class. Everyone else was trying to create this educated papers and complete hours of paper work. But teachers will never know the type of students in the classroom until hey open Up to thru their literature. Assessing writing is fun if you think that writing is a channel to a child’s thought process. There are several ways to measure a child’s wtiiting and how they have progressed. I definitely disagree with standardized testing. I do not have another method of evaluating writing over time.
